About Me

My photo
I am 21, I live in London, I love clothes and I'm a bit of a slave to fashion. My friends know of my addiction to the latest trends and often ask me for my advice which I am more than happy to give(!) I also have a secret habit of styling people that I see on my travels, reinventing an improved style for them in my mind! I've been following a few fashion blogs but haven't really found what i've been looking for, so i've decided to create my own to share my ideas of style with anyone who is interested! I am a working girl on a tight budget (a healthy size 10) and clothes have to come at a price I can afford. I am hoping to show that it is possible to keep up with the trends with buys from the high street. So, I will be posting things that I would want to see in a blog. I hope you like it! I'd appreciate constructive comments. xx

Pick 'a' Pastel

Pastel Colours

Think lemon sorbet, candy floss pink, rose, sky blue, spearmint and you're half way there. Delicious ice-cream colours are hot for spring/summer 2012. For those who want a slightly more sophisticated and grown up look then to quote from vogue "choose subtler, slightly washed-out pastels such as bitter lemon and dusty pink" This pretty palet is the perfect way to welcome summer.

Peter Pan Collar.

One of the hottest trends of the season is the Peter Pan collar. Big for the summer but also a trend that will follow through to Autumn-Winter 2011, definitely making it an investment buy! An easy way to get a chic, cute and girly look. The Peter Pan Collar is 60s inspired and a way to make a strong fashion statement yet so simple and feminine!

"The collar takes its name from the costume worn by the eponymous hero in the first production of J.M Barrie’s 1904 play, but has been brought bang up to date this season and is currently finding favour with style-setters such as Fearne Cotton and Alexa Chung."

For a daytime look pair a Peter Pan collar blouse with a pair of skinnies or a midi skirt for an office look. For the ultimate summer time look wear with a skirt and sandals or for an evening look go for a collared shift dress paired with tights and heels.

Rhos-On-Sea

Jeans - Topshop
Vest Top - Topshop
Necklace - New Look
Espadrilles - New Look
Head Scarf - No idea!!!

I am currently enjoying my second week of holiday in North Wales, in a lush village right by the sea called Rhos-On-Sea! Managed to get some photos taken using my mum's camera today. Absolutely loving having this time off - definitely just what I needed! I'm being so lazy but I honestly feel like I deserve to be, I haven't had a holiday in forever!

I bought a few nice things today and got an outfit as I have my friends 21st birthday on Friday, so will post some pictures from that when I get back to London! This outfit really isn't overly exciting I do apologize.. I wasn't feeling too experimental today, most of the clothes I have in my suitcase were meant for Spain where the weather is scorching hot!! I didn't plan the second part of my holiday too well so I will be freezing my ass off this week!

I don't really have anything exciting to report, this is a very quiet village so not too much going on - going to watch the final Harry Potter tomorrow, now that.. is EXCITING! I am a huge Harry Potter geek and I'm devastated it's all finished and yep I'm extremely cool!

I have decided I am going to update my blog twice a week from now on, the same two days each week so if you are regularly coming back to view it then you will no for sure I have actually posted something new. So Sundays and Wednesday will be the two days and may do some cheeky posts in between if I get the time!!

Never fully dressed without a smile.

This outfit was one I wore to a friends birthday last weekend, for such an occasion a cheeky new outfit was needed so took a trip to New Look. I am wearing Capri Pants a trend mentioned in a previous post, a purple blouse which colour very much resembles my hair and then these new tan heels (ridiculously high!) which I adore, also from New Look. I did cheat and take flats with me and just changed the heels when I got to the venue but it was chucking it down with rain - so just being sensible, ha! Considering I didn't really know many people there, it turned out to be a good night and meet some cool new people.

I want to start posting a lot more on my blog it just takes a lot of time and i'm trying to work and save as much money as possible at the moment so I can look at doing a fashion course and pursue my career hopefully as a fashion stylist or buyer! But I appreciate those of you who keep coming back to check out the blog, please keep coming back to me with feedback as it really helps a lot.. (except you mirror boys!)

Grab somebody sexy tell them hey..

Fashion Tights - New Look
Black Bodycon Dress - Topshop
Jumper - Phase Eight
Bag Necklace - New Look

Sorry i've not posted anything in a while, had a bit of an eventful two weeks to be honest, it's amazing how quickly your life can change! I won't get into that now though.. This outfit I wore to a gig last week - love these tights but i'm so angry as I've bought these tights before but ripped them the first day I wore them and exactly the same thing happened with these! Such a waste of money haha, luckily I got this picture in before it happened.  The name card thing around my neck is not meant to be a fashion accessory haha, they put on a glastonbury night at the pub so they made tickets and things to make it as much like being at glastonbury as possible. Very cheesy I know! Was a good night though!

...thank you for the pain, it made me raise my game...

Top & Shorts both Topshop
Black Strappy Wedges - New Look

So the sun is out, my favourite excuse to wear really short shorts! I wore this outfit on the weekend but unfortunately the weather was shocking, it didn't stop raining, so I wore tights and more appropriate footwear. Really simple outfit but just think it's really cute. Love this top though it was one of my cheeky purchases over the weekend. . I thought I would pop into Topshop quickly on Oxford Street as I was in the area....2 hours later and a bag full of shopping I really wish I hadn't! I don't think I will ever learn!

What To Wear Spring/Summer 2011

I'm starting with what's hot for Spring/Summer 2011. I find it can be a challenge to keep track of different trends as they seem to change constantly. I also know how it feels to be working full time and not having the time or patience to browse the internet, magazines, shops etc for the latest fashion must haves. As all of us fashionistas are aware it is also an expensive job trying to keep your wardrobe up to date so I have decided to find the key items which I feel represent the latest trends best for the most reasonable prices.

Trend one: Bohemian Style, Boho Chic (Fringe&Feathers) A mix of hippie, ethnic, gypsy and vintage. The key to pulling off the Bohemian look is;
  •  layering your clothes
  • wearing comfortable and casual items
  •  lots of jewellery (think gypsy)
  • hair should have lots of volume (backcomb)
  • the perfect shoes would be this season's flat moccassins or sandals with lots of beads and embroidery.

  As seen on the catwalk

Roberto Cavalli Spring/Summer 2011

How it's appeared in the shops.

Knitted Natural Lace Flower Fringed Vest (Topshop)

Capri Cropped Top (All Saints)
not the cheapest but I just love this tshirt

Peacock drops with feathers (Miss Selfridge)

Coral Feather Necklace (Dorothy Perkins)
Feather Tassel Alice Band (Miss Selfridge)

THIS IS ME.
and here is my take on the bohemian trend.

Trilby - Topshop
Long sleeved top - Topshop
Fringed waistcoat - New Look
Black high waisted skirt - New Look
LOVE ring - Topshop
Belt - New Look
This is my favourite trend this season definitely perfect for all the festivals coming up this summer!
