About Me

My photo
I am 21, I live in London, I love clothes and I'm a bit of a slave to fashion. My friends know of my addiction to the latest trends and often ask me for my advice which I am more than happy to give(!) I also have a secret habit of styling people that I see on my travels, reinventing an improved style for them in my mind! I've been following a few fashion blogs but haven't really found what i've been looking for, so i've decided to create my own to share my ideas of style with anyone who is interested! I am a working girl on a tight budget (a healthy size 10) and clothes have to come at a price I can afford. I am hoping to show that it is possible to keep up with the trends with buys from the high street. So, I will be posting things that I would want to see in a blog. I hope you like it! I'd appreciate constructive comments. xx

...thank you for the pain, it made me raise my game...

Top & Shorts both Topshop
Black Strappy Wedges - New Look

So the sun is out, my favourite excuse to wear really short shorts! I wore this outfit on the weekend but unfortunately the weather was shocking, it didn't stop raining, so I wore tights and more appropriate footwear. Really simple outfit but just think it's really cute. Love this top though it was one of my cheeky purchases over the weekend. . I thought I would pop into Topshop quickly on Oxford Street as I was in the area....2 hours later and a bag full of shopping I really wish I hadn't! I don't think I will ever learn!

Palazzo Trousers Vs Capri Pants.

Trend Six.

Palazzo Trousers

Palazzo Trousers. Although not my cup of tea, palazzo trousers are set to be highly fashionable over the next year! Another trip back to the 70s. If they are worn right they can look amazing but I always feel you have to be quite brave to wear them especially as it's still a very new trend. This 70s trend is set to stick around until AW11 so they will be a brilliant investment buy and will take you right through to next season. I'm sure I will be investing in a pair over the next month. I'll post a picture when I do!

Advice on how to wear palazzo trousers.
  • I would recommend that you need a taller frame to not be drowned by the trousers.  If you are slightly shorter then look at capri pants (cropped trousers)
  • For the best look they should be worn with heels as when worn with flats they have the potential to look like a skirt, in my opinion anyway.
  • To make the most of the 70s style we are seeing so much recently pair them with a floppy hat & big platforms
  • A tight fitted shirt will balance out the volume given from the trousers, a blouse can look equally as good but you will probably find that a waist belt will be needed to break up the "bagginess"

A selection of my favourites.

Capri Pants
Capri Pants - If you fancy a change from full length skinny jeans but aren't brave enough to try the palazzo trousers then have a look at capri pants.  There are several different styles of capri pants ones that are made to be slightly cropped so that they sit just above the ankle and ones that are cut just below the calf.

An easy way to wear the capri style pants without having to buy any would be to just slightly roll up the bottom of any skinny jeans you may have (I am just assuming everyone owns a pair of skinny jeans!!)
I find this style quite funny because a few years ago if your jeans didn't quite reach the floor because you had grown everyone would laugh and they would be called "ankle swingers" but who would have known that this style would become a huge trend!

I'll stop the whole world.

Shorts - Topshop
Jumper -  Phase Eight
Boots - New Look

So thought I would do an outfit post for a change, I have been lucky enough to have the whole weekend off work this weekend which is a very rare occassion! I've tried to make the most of it and get loads of blogging done. I wanted to try and dress up these new shorts I bought from topshop so I teamed them with this baggy jumper and I quite like how they look! I also tried them with a simple vest tee which worked aswell.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend. :)

Floppy Hats.

Trend Five.

This season we see the return of the 70's style floppy hat. The perfect way to complete a summer look! Not only stylish but very practical, protecting your head and and face from sunburn during the hot summer months.

A definite MUST HAVE item!
Here I am trying to rock the floppy hat look.
I've gone for a straw hat from H&M mainly because I initially wanted a black one but didnt manage to find one when I went shopping, I have an awful habit of just buying anything for the sake of it instead of waiting till I find the one I want!  But anyway I'm quite happy with this straw one, I guess their not very expensive so I'm sure I will splash out for a black one aswell! Naughty!

Season for Stripes

Trend Four.

Stripes - the best way to brighten up your summer wardrobe.

Oh how I love this trend as it's always reoccuring so I always seem to be able to dig deep into my wardrobe and find stripes of some sort. It saves on the clothes funds at least!

There are many different styles of stripes to choose from, vertical, horizontal as well as skinny or thick stripes. Generally they say to choose horizontal ones if you are completely happy with your body shape and the vertical/diagonal ones if you would prefer to "lose a few pound" or emphasize your most flattering curves and body parts.
