About Me

My photo
I am 21, I live in London, I love clothes and I'm a bit of a slave to fashion. My friends know of my addiction to the latest trends and often ask me for my advice which I am more than happy to give(!) I also have a secret habit of styling people that I see on my travels, reinventing an improved style for them in my mind! I've been following a few fashion blogs but haven't really found what i've been looking for, so i've decided to create my own to share my ideas of style with anyone who is interested! I am a working girl on a tight budget (a healthy size 10) and clothes have to come at a price I can afford. I am hoping to show that it is possible to keep up with the trends with buys from the high street. So, I will be posting things that I would want to see in a blog. I hope you like it! I'd appreciate constructive comments. xx

What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger....

Leggings - Topshop
Denim Sleeveless Jacket - H & M
Creepers - Office
Hat - Topshop

I love these leggings!!! It's funny how you change your view on things, a few years ago if I saw these leggings there is no way I would ever consider wearing them but I can't get enough of them now!! It's the same with these creepers, I first saw them when my mentor at London Fashion Week wore them and I thought they were the most horrendous things I have ever seen but again absolutely love them now. I'm in North Wales for the week, I decided I need to get away from London to sort my life out. I'm trying to get myself a new job in the retail industry which definitely isn't as easy as I expected! Everybody wants previous experience so I do question how you are ever supposed to get into it? But I'm sure I will find a way.. I've got so much done since I have been here, London can be a very stressful place sometimes it's always nice to get away. I always seem to leave here feeling really motivated and stress-free! I think my positive mother has something to do with it, she always sorts me out! ;)

Pick 'a' Pastel

Pastel Colours

Think lemon sorbet, candy floss pink, rose, sky blue, spearmint and you're half way there. Delicious ice-cream colours are hot for spring/summer 2012. For those who want a slightly more sophisticated and grown up look then to quote from vogue "choose subtler, slightly washed-out pastels such as bitter lemon and dusty pink" This pretty palet is the perfect way to welcome summer.

Hot Right Now...

Spring/Summer Fashion Trends 2012

Having explored the trends and colours for the up and coming season it is possibly one of my favourites to date....

The spring/summer season is definitely my favourite time to shop. I can't wait to wave goodbye to the winter blues and welcome the summer with open arms. Having spent several years growing up in spain I think it takes me back to those good old days and my happy care-free memories. I love the freedom that comes with the summer. No more having to worry about layering and investing money in chunky jumpers and coats. All we need do is throw on a cute pair of denim shorts that never seem to date and (infact may actually improve with age.) They simply need bringing into the moment with the current colours and trends.

Cruella De Vil.

Autumn Winter Trends 2011-2012

Dalmation Print.

I am absolutely loving this trend! This Cruella De Vil inspired trend flooded the catwalk in many designers Autumn/Winter 2011 collections. A nice change from the over exhausted leopard and zebra prints. This trend was a big part of Topshop Unique's Collection - the designers pieces varied from thick faux fur oversized dalmation print coats to dalmation motif jumpers, killer dalmation print boots and faux fur headbands! This print when worn will definitely make you stand out from the crowd, to break up the overpowering black and white try adding a splash of colour such as red lipstick. Personally I will be going for the dalmation print heels or faux fur headband, an easy way to make a statement without it looking too over the top. I've also fallen in love with the cosie dalmation print onesie so may have to add that to my winter wardrobe!

Pumped Up Kicks.

I thought i'd take a picture of me in my Peter Pan collar top as obviously it's very relevant to the last post. Mine is from topshop, I got it quite a while ago now but never got round to wearing it. I think it would be really nice with some black ribbon tied around the neck but unfortunately I don't have any here!

I've been enjoying a lovely relaxing day today after my first week back at work - was just as hard as I expected going back!! Already feel like I haven't even been away, so depressing! Should be getting a new laptop soon which means i'll be able to blog regularly again, at the minute i'm having to borrow my brothers which is dead slowwwww so it takes twice as long to do anything!

It's a bit of a stressful time at the minute as i'm meant to be moving in with two of my mates but it's been a struggle trying to find somewhere, fingers crossed though I think we've got somewhere but should find out for definite tomorrow!  I was living with my ex boyfriend for two and a half years so will be weird having my own space again, so excited though!

I've also been looking a lot into getting some fashion intern experience, I think it will be the easiest way to get into the fashion world. I've given myself a deadline to find myself a new job as i'm just far too comfortable in my bar job and I know I can do so much better! Hopefully this will be a good year for me, I definitely want it to be a productive year!

Got a cheeky new tattoo when I was away last week, I love tattoo's and have wanted another one for a while.. it's of a dove with a music note in it's mouth (as singing is my other passion) then a little red heart.. guess it symbolizes peace, love and music.

Peter Pan Collar.

One of the hottest trends of the season is the Peter Pan collar. Big for the summer but also a trend that will follow through to Autumn-Winter 2011, definitely making it an investment buy! An easy way to get a chic, cute and girly look. The Peter Pan Collar is 60s inspired and a way to make a strong fashion statement yet so simple and feminine!

"The collar takes its name from the costume worn by the eponymous hero in the first production of J.M Barrie’s 1904 play, but has been brought bang up to date this season and is currently finding favour with style-setters such as Fearne Cotton and Alexa Chung."

For a daytime look pair a Peter Pan collar blouse with a pair of skinnies or a midi skirt for an office look. For the ultimate summer time look wear with a skirt and sandals or for an evening look go for a collared shift dress paired with tights and heels.
